When is the closest deadline?

The closest deadline is 15 June 2025 and the announcement of the results is expected on 30 June 2025.

How will the jury evaluate the performances in the competition? Are there specific scoring criteria?

Scoring System:

Each participant will be evaluated by a panel of esteemed judges, who will score the performance on a scale of 0-25 points. The scoring is divided into several categories:

Overall impact: 5 points
Technical proficiency: 5 points
Interpretation: 5 points
Musicality: 5 points
Presentation: 5 points

Are there any special prizes or extra opportunities for winners?
  • In each category, Participant who receives 24-25 will be awarded Gold Prize, 22-23 points will be awarded Silver Prize, 19-21 points will be awarded Bronze Prize and 16-18 points will get Laureate Title
  • Participants will receive an e-diploma for each category in which they participate.
  • Teachers can receive e-certificates on participant’s request.
  • An extensive commentary from the jury (if you request it during the application). It is designed to help your further musical development
  • The “Pianist of the Year” award will be given to the winner who presented the highest artistic level in a given year.
  • The “Chopinist of the Season” award will be given to the contestant who obtained the highest evaluation of a Chopin’s piece in a single edition of the competition. 
  • The “Versatile Pianist” award will be given to the contestant who received the highest score in the biggest number of categories.
  • Photos and video links of a selected winners will be featured in the Universal Maestro Society Winners’ Gallery
  • The jury panel may wish to award Special Prizes (Excellent Musicianship, Technique etc.)
  • The Universal Maestro Society offers to interview the best winning artists in Maestro Magazine.
  • Social Media exposure
  • Online Chopin Gala Concert and other opportunities
Can I participate in more than one category or submit different types of repertoire?

Yes, you can. We have a number of expert categories to choose from, so you can perform a variety of repertoire that you are proficient in. Here you can find a full list of Expert Categories.

Are there any application fees, and how much does it cost to participate?

Yes, there are application fees. The main age category has a fee of 65 euros, and each expert category is 35 euros. If you wish to obtain a commentary from one of the jury members, it costs 25 euros extra.

What are the video requirements for submitting my performance?

All performances should be submitted in video format (as a link to a public video platform), ensuring clear audio and video quality, with the silhouette hands and face of the performer clearly visible. Also, make sure your recording doesn’t have too much reverberation.

Can I appeal the jury’s decision or request a re-evaluation?

The decision of the experienced judges will be final and binding for all participants. See the jury panel here.

Will I be informed if any rules change during the competition?

The organizers reserve the right to make changes to the regulations if necessary. All changes will be communicated promptly to registered participants.
